Welcoming Our New Intern Therapist: Accessible, Compassionate Care in Orléans

Updated: 2 days ago

At Charron Psychotherapy Services, we believe that quality mental health care should be accessible, affirming, and grounded in genuine human connection. We’re excited to welcome Amy Wack, our newest intern therapist, to the team. Amy is now accepting clients and offers sliding scale rates, helping reduce financial barriers to therapy.

Meet Amy Wack

Amy Wack is a student intern joining us from Saint Paul University for the practicum component of her Masters of Arts in Counselling and Spirituality. She brings a warm, thoughtful, and client-centered approach to her work. She is completing her practicum under the supervision of Sofie Charron, RP, ensuring that clients receive care that is both compassionate and clinically supported.

Amy has experience supporting individuals through anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem concerns, life transitions, and relationship challenges. Her background includes crisis support work, which has strengthened her ability to meet clients with steadiness, empathy, and respect, especially during moments of vulnerability.

A Collaborative, Integrative Approach

Amy believes therapy should feel safe, collaborative, and tailored to the person sitting across from her. She draws from evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), attachment-based perspectives, and person-centered therapy.

Her work focuses on helping clients:

  • better understand their emotional patterns

  • develop practical coping tools

  • reconnect with their values

  • build self-compassion and resilience

Whether you’re looking to make sense of long-standing patterns or navigate a current stressor, Amy offers a supportive space to explore, reflect, and grow at your own pace.

Making Therapy More Accessible: Sliding Scale Options

We recognize that cost can be a real obstacle to seeking therapy. To help address this, Amy offers sliding scale rates, meaning session fees may be adjusted based on financial need. This model is intended to support individuals who may not have extended health coverage or who need a more affordable option to access care.

Amy’s standard intern rate is $100 per session, with sliding scale availability for those who qualify. Our Care Coordinator is happy to help explore options with you.

In-Person and Virtual Appointments

Amy offers therapy in person at our Orléans office as well as virtual sessions, allowing you to choose the format that best fits your comfort level and schedule.

Start With a Free Initial Consultation

Beginning therapy can feel like a big step. To help make that first step easier, Amy offers a free 15-minute initial consultation. This brief call gives you the opportunity to share what you’re looking for, ask questions, and see if working together feels like a good fit, with no pressure to commit.

To book your free consultation, contact our Care Coordinator by phone at (613) 884-9285 or reach out by email. Initial consultation calls are typically scheduled within 48 business hours. If you’re seeking supportive, affordable therapy with a warm and thoughtful clinician, Amy would be honoured to walk alongside you. You don't have to navigate this alone.
